State Vigilance Organization today caught red-handed Shri Parveen Sharma, statistical Officer in the Economic Investigation Section of District Industries Centre Jammu while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.5000/- from the complainant for registration of Small Scale Industrial Unit (SSI unit).

As per the reports received Parveen Sharma, statistical Officer in the Economic Investigation Section of District Industries Centre Jammu demanded illegal gratification for processing his papers for registration of an SSI Unit for manufacture of Jute bags. The said Statistical Officer had already accepted 1^st instalment from the complainant and is demanding Rs 5000/- more for issue of registration certificate in his favour.

A Case FIR No.25/2009 P/S VOJ u/s 5(2) P.C.Act 2006 r/w 161 RPC was registered and a team of SVO officials were deputed to District Industries Centre Jammu for investigation.
